My flight was delayed. Alamo was aware of my flight number because it was notified by reservation and they are at the airport. Alamo closed and I left without transportation at the airport. I will never book again. I had a bad time and I was distressed to stay without transportation in a country that did not know anyone. I had to settle with another company.

I did not rent the car because when we got there and we showed the rate we had the guy keep saying that is impossible you have no insurance he wanted to charge us insurance for 3 days $175.00 and the car rate $43 for the 3 das we thought it was outrages and decided to take a cab to the resort which was only $35.00

Absolutely nothing.

The fact that when we arrived they had no vehicles. Literally none and did not even try to help us find one. And we arrived ahead of our scheduled pick-up time to be safe. Horrible customer service and horrible company. Not what one wants to deal with when they arrive to a foreign country. Unacceptable.

I would be capable to disband Kayak from the Internet.

They promised us to bring the car in Bavaro although, in the very first day they invited us in Punta Cana Aiport. After we made more than 5 phone calls, on European roaming, calls consisting of: wait a second, wait a second, and we were discussing with many, many operators, calling us on Terminal A, afterwards on Terminal B, and again on A and B, we found out that they didn't even have the car we ordered. We had to pay 70 USD taxi, round trip and also 282 USD insurance for no car. It was a disaster that destroyed our holiday. It's a huge mistake to have them as your franchisors. They don't speak English, it's a huge waiting time, no car, and the services are a disaster!

Bait and switch on prices. My rental before arrival was around 270 dollars and at the airport it turned into 597 dollars. Apperantly they do not accept the rental insurance I have bought thru Kayak (which Kayak recommended) so I was forced to buy their insurance which turned out to be more than the rental itself. Horrible rental company and I am not happy with Kayak that offered me insurance. So pretty much I got screwed. Never again am I booking rentals thru a website.

Was cheapest deal at the airport rentals. Would rent again here

The car battery died if you turned the lights on without the engine running, for 5 minutes. Literally 5 minutes to a dead battery. Had to have it jump-started twice and wish we would have been warned about that.

The car was not ready when we got there and we had to be shuttled to another location to pick it up. I had purchased additional insurance on Expedia that I was then told when I arrived at Budget that that insurance was not valid for Budget nor in the Dominican Republic at all, so then I had to purchase another whole insurance. The person assisting me was rude and argumentative. He had me signing papers without even telling me what I was signing for nor what the price was going to be that I was committing/signing to. When I asked him the price he pitched a big fight and acted very immature and like I was an inconvenience. The car I got had tons and tons of dents all over it so I then had to make sure that they saw every single one so that I did not get scammed even more.

Interrent make their money from flogging you insurance. We bought a compact car for a week for $170 which was definitely too good to be true! The extra insurances they insisted you have cost an extra $190. And in addition the paperwork we received to start included a deposit of $170 which was reasonable, less so the deposit the pick up site demanded, of $800! The no-show up fee of $50 will be challenged but with the cabs to and from the hotel, was still cheaper than the extra insurances. Such a shame. Would not hire from interrent again.

I didn't like that it was a very misleading experience. I booked through Kayak.com at a price and when I got to Hertz they said that they couldn't give me the value I was offered on the website and charged me double of what I expecting to pay.

Convenience, dropped it off at a different location

The insurance we reserved was a joke. It was 10 dollars a day on the Kayak site only to find out when we got to the Hertz facility they wanted to charge more for insurance than the entire car rental price. We had 2 dents on the car that I told the hertz guy about. He saw them and agreed, but didn't add them to the damage sheet! So, at the other end, they are trying to charge us for dents that I have pictures of on my phone! The language barrier was a joke. If I have to pay for damage that was already on the car, I'll be coming back to Hertz for this.

Was quoted a price and when I picked up the car I was downgraded to an suv that was not close to a “Tahoe or similar vehicle”. I was forced to sign into multiple types of coverages that according to the rep were mandatory. Price more than doubled from quite. Rep on return advised none were mandatory

The car was large enough to fit 3 people and all the luggage comfortably.

I was given a price of $202 when I rented the car.I spoke to a Hertz Club Gold booking agent and they confirmed the price. Once I arrived at the Punta Cana airport: 1.) We waited over 45 minutes for someone to help us. There was nobody at the counter for 30 minutes. Then someone was who was helping another customer walked up, completely ignoring us. She was extremely slow and looked very inexperienced. Another Hertz representative showed up about 15-20 minutes later. 2.) The representative that helped us said that the price we received from the Hertz Club Gold member was just to reserve the car and the price of the car is actually more. I showed him my email receipt and he still said that's not what it shows on his screen. After that, he started adding all of these additional charges including insurance, gas option and a 28% tax. I told him I wanted to decline the insurance and gas options and he said that I could not an that I had to because it's a law in the Dominican Republic.I told him that none of this was ever communicated to me and I would have changed my travel plans to not use a rental car if I knew this was the case. I was stuck at this point and needed to pay for the car which now has cost me around $300 additional to the $202 I originally reserved. 3.) The car I was given was in terrible shape. Not only were there dents on the exterior but the inside was dirty and there were stains all over the seats. The driver side floor mat was not meant for the car. It partially covered the gas pedal and made it dangerous to drive. on top of all of this, the tires were bald and the car slide many times when I was braking. I have pictures of the dents in the exterior, floor mat and tires as proof. Additionally, I was only given the key to the car and not given the keyless entry module. This was absolutely the worst experience I've ever had renting a car and I was expecting much better service and vehicle since I was renting through Hertz. Also, the website and Hertz Club Gold representative should have explained the insurance and tax scams before renting the car. I will not be using Hertz in the future due to this experience.

Like how easy it was to dropped off.

I was given one price online and at the counter I had additional charges that no one could assist me with. I had to paid an additional $60 for dropping it off at the same location I had reserved it for but was told that it was not included in the price of reservation, I was force to use their insurance for an additional $20 otherwise they would not release the car even though I had my own insurance.

Waiting at the counter after a long flight to pick up the car and to be told that I have to pay so many extra including the Collision / LDW of $ 8.95 or $ 19.00 daily when I do have my own insurance. From an estimate booking of $ 556 I end up paying $ 1696.11. Never again I will be booking a car hire with a broker.
