The car was acceptable

The Allianz insurance i paid for via Kayak is not honored by Budget, so i had to spend another 60 euro for their coverage. After duly returning the car with 7/8 + tank full, i had to pay 20 euros to 'fill the tank'. The clerk said i could avoid that fee by taking the car out of the garage where i had to park it, level -6 at the porte Maillot garage, and find a gas station, a good 45 min round trip operation. So i will take my business elsewhere.

The car was clean and new. It had good navigation system and blutooth which is important.

The manager guy at the office was rude, unpolite and bad educated. He made our rental experience with this company terrible and left very bed impression.

This hertz office was large immaculate and very well run. The ease of renting a car in paris proper rather than at the airport was worth it. Some of the online reviews are so old that they’re just wrong. I will only use this car rental spot for the next year in paris.. They could offer more automatic cars available to rent. Not sure why they only offer stick shift options? Also they should warn foreigners about the hundred of dollars in tolls they will have to pay. And I’m not exaggerating when I say hundreds. It’s obscene what they charge for tolls. It’s laughable. But that isn’t hertz fault however they should be more transparent about it.

The car itself

They have not fixed over charges they charged due to mileage overages on an unlimited mileage rental. They haven't responded to fix it. The pick up of the car was ridiculous, bad communication, giving me a car I didn't rent initially. I rented a mid-size SUV and they tried to give me a compact car, saying it was an SUV. Took over an hour just to pick car up as rental agent appeared to be incompetent. In the end, they overcharged for for a day and mileage - and have since failed to respond to my multiple attempts to resolve the incorrect charges.

We try to extended our rental for another day but the phone number giving never answer, at one point even said that it was closed!

Extremely friendly staff. Explained everything thoroughly and made sure their system matched my Kayak price which seemed a bit tricky at first.
