To start, my rental car wasn’t ready for pickup at my reservation time. I had to wait 3 hours due to low car inventory. The pickup office was under staffed, only one person working and trying to assist multiple customers. After a 4 week rental, my drop off experience was even worse than pickup. The Drop off address provided was underneath a large parking garage that had the same address. After driving in and then walking around the large parking structure looking for SIXT for a hour, the parking garage attendant told me that it was the wrong location for SIXT. I then found the SIXT lot only to see that it was closed and not currently being used by SIXT. I then called the 24/7 phone line for SIXT, waited on hold for 30 mins and then finally talked with a rep who was unfamiliar with the car turn in situation in Stuttgart (my location). I was then eventually transferred to a local SIXT office who told me they no longer use that location and that I needed to bring the car to a different downtown location…despite the paperwork that was provided when I picked up the car a few weeks prior had the turn in location listed as such. I then proceeded to new location, across very crowded pedestrian and unfamiliar streets on a sunny Saturday. I planned for my car rental turn in to take an hour, instead it ended up taking 3 hours. Bottom line, my experience with SIXT was not good. I will not be renting from them again or refer them to any other customers. There were no issues with my rental car, however the pickup and drop off experience was the worst I’ve had in 20 years of renting cars.
