Staff was friendly.

When we returned the car the staff complained about some sand in the car. They tried to charge us 35 dollars for extra cleaning because according to their staff the card had excess of dirt (which was not true). Later we found out that they don't own a vacuum cleaner and that's why they want to change us extra. Second problem. We had to wait one and half hour for the car.

Thrifty Never rented the van to me because they did not have available when I got to Santo Domingo. Finally I rented with Nelly Rental Car. It was the worst experience with a rental car. Thrifty did never accomplish with my reservation. The employee was Billy Pérez. The supervisor, Jose Garcia, did never get to the terminal counter and did not talk to me.

We were trying to be sold extra insurance even though we purchased extra insurance through Alianz- they said that coverage was not accepted in the Dominican Republic- SCAM

Car was ok. Clean and responsive. Didn't have any issues while I had it. No mechanical problems.

When I got there to pick up the car I was told that I to pay a different price no with exceptions. So I reserved the car from home for a set price because it was what I could afford only to end up having to pay twice as much once I picked up the car. Also when I went to pick up the vehicle I had to wait forever because the attendant was nowhere to be found. The receptionist who attended me with the paperwork had to get out and get the car herself after I kept coming back to tell her that I was still waiting. The gentleman who was assigned to get the car was practically only a few feet from me sitting on a chair sleeping and pretending he didn't work there.. Horrible service. Just horrible. As for the car it was scratched all over with many dents all around including the at the hood as if someone beat it with a baseball bat. Also had horrible paint job on the back. You can see the yellow stains protruding from the original white paint and the windshield was cracked. But at least the car did its job to take me from point A to point B without any problems..
