Rental Car with Enterprise Location: Enterprise Rent-A-Car Charlotte, NC 6541 E Independence Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28212 June 26, 2021 Made a reservation for a Premium SUV (Chevy Suburban or similar – basically something for 7-8 people) for Dec 26th-Jan 2nd 2022. September 2021 Contacted location regarding changing pickup and to confirm that they did in fact have the size vehicle I have a reservation for, since I had checked a few times and the website kept saying the location did not carry the size vehicle I reserved. Spoke with Corey and he actually wasn’t sure if the location was going to be open on the day we made our reservation due to the holiday. Couldn’t confirm and I had to call back. Was not feeling “Confident”. October 15, 2021 Called the branch once again to check about the vehicle I had reserved, as we needed the size we had reserved and if they don’t carry it, we would change our reservation to another site. Spoke with Lauren and she assured me that they would have the vehicle we needed and that they would be open and we could pick it up as soon as the branch opened. December 24, 2021 Called the branch spoke with Corey and asked if I could pickup my vehicle early due to the fact they were closed the next day due to holiday and my pickup was bright and early the next day. Was told at that time my vehicle was not there, said he would call me when it came in. Because of holiday location was closing early. I called a few hours before and asked if my vehicle was in yet (due to the fact it was Christmas the next day and they would be closed and I would need it when they opened the day after). No one at this office could confirm when the vehicle I had reserved would be in giving me the impression they were NEVER going to really give me the vehicle I reserved. So I finally asked what 4 wheel drive vehicle did they have that would fit my needs. They offered the Chrysler Pacifica van, because I did not have a lot of confidence in the fact they were not going to have the vehicle I needed and we were leaving bright and early the day after Christmas, we decided to pickp up the vehicle 2 days early. They charged $140 a day for the additional days (it’s a gouge on their part but we knew they were not going to have our car and didn’t want to find that out on the day we were leaving—so we agreed). So we pickup the van, 2 days early. After looking at the paperwork, the drop off time is wrong, and I’m being charged for my husband as an additional driver. As well as the tank is not full and no one has said anything to us about what is expected at drop off. Week of December 27th – Jan 2nd While using the van, made several attempts to call the office. Obviously busy season, placed on hold for long time and when you do finally talk to someone they are in such a hurry you are not given the grace and courtesy to ask your questions. At times you feel like you are really a bother for calling. We did realize on the trip that the return time was not going to work, with our schedule and we wanted to call the office to let them know. Couldn’t reach anyone January 1st. Called January 2nd around 9:30 a.m. was greeted by a hurried agent by the name of Jacqueline. I wanted to let her now we would be dropping the car off after hours today and did they have a drop box (the website says they do not). She assured us they do. I also told her they have added my husband as an additional driver that we are being charged for, she did some checking and then finally said they’ll credit us. No idea what that means and since we are dropping the car off I don’t feel confident this will happen. Sad she could not do it for us. Or even offer a helpful solution. Next, asked her about how tolls are charged, abrupt response “your billed later”. January 2nd, 2022 – 6:00 p.m. Dropped vehicle off- we have a complete video of the vehicle as well as a complete video of the keys being deposited in their drop box with paperwork stating my husband was not supposed to be charged as an additional driver. I am very disappointed in the service I received from this location. The attendants that helped us at pickup were nice to work with (I think his name was Corey), but everything from confidence that I would get the vehicle I reserved, to speaking with a live person when I called the branch, to when I did reach someone getting a courteous and patient person. I get that the rental car industry is hit by challenging times like every other travel industry these days, but this rental was way way too hard and it really didn’t have to be. We have always considered Enterprise as an exceptional rental car company, but this experience has set a different standard. So now we wait for our credit card to be charged the proper amount, will that be hard too? Jan 3rd – 9:40 a.m. Trying to reach location to confirm my vehicle was received as we had to drop off after location was closed. Voicemail kept spinning--- hung up on 3 times – after 40 min 12:35 -- STILL trying to reach branch to confirm receipt of keys and vehicle – went through 800 # and still got no help!
