Cheap Car Rentals in Downtown, Sarasota

Pick counter took a very long time, very long line but drop off was a breeze.

The vehicle was almost brand new and very comfortable and the company goes very easy to deal with

Had to wait 20 minutes for car to be washed. Staff was nice, but gave me a car with less than one quarter gas.

Checking the car out from SRQ took over an hour. Reason for long lines? Short staff and same process for getting a car that Budget used in 1980’s . It should have been faster.

Took about 30-45 minutes to get the car.

The people working there were great! Really went above and beyond! Unfortunately our flight was changed to a few hours later though and we ended up having to pay a full day's cost for the rental car and that didn't seem right.

It took too long to process and pick up the car. Also, they were out of Lincolns and Chrysler 300s so I got an "upgrade: Cadillac which had a vibrating seat. It was uncomfortable when 1st discovered. Otherwise, a good experience

I opted to rent a Tesla Model 3 since Hertz was running a promotion. Since I had never before driven a Tesla, I was expecting some sort of orientation. The rep offered none when I asked and said, "We just assume folks already know how to operate it if they're renting it." I spent 15 minutes in the parking lot trying to figure out how to adjust the mirrors and how to put it in Drive. UGH! When I asked him where the nearest charging station was he replied, "I don't know but I hear there's one at the Wawa station at the corner of Honore and Clark." I think Hertz is crazy to rent a Tesla without any instructions. I almost got rear-ended the first time I took my foot off the accelerator. They slow down so fast it's as if you're applying the brakes hard.

Loved the car! Brand new….only 3500 miles on it. 2023 Hyundai Elantra. Very smooth riding car! Would rent from Hertz again!

All good except car smelled like smoke

Pickup was a bit slow, as it was Easter Sunday and the Dollar and Thrifty desks were closed, and I had to queue up at Hertz. Otherwise, the service was fine. The car was OK, but could have had more baggage space behind the third row of seats.

Quick pickup. They actually had a car for me. Easy drop off. Car was nice and clean.

How did they charge me $284 for 2 days???

They share a rental desk with other rental companies. It was busy and they only had one agent working the desk. He did a great job and was moving really fast, but it was just one guy. When it came time for our rental, the agent had to login again to the payless system, which took about 5 minutes. So, in all, we waited approximately 50 minutes to get our vehicle, causing us to miss a dinner reservation. I just wish I had known prior to renting that this would be the case, I guess it was still a good value, but unexpected delay.

Waited over two hours in car pick up line. Car was indicated as having a full tank and had less than 3/4 of a tank. Tires on car were very bad. Drop off was very good.

I loved the customer service, (Sarasota) it’s efficient and amiability make it easygoing my process.

The location did not have a full sized as reserved, they said we were upgraded to a small suv which seemed like a downgrade. The car wasn’t cleaned. But on the bright side we were comped for gas

Only two agents were working the desk. It took an hour and a half to get my car. Agents were friendly enough but needed help to move the line. There was nobody in the car rental lot to report any car inspection issues. Additionally, while the car was relatively clean, certain areas like the windshield and rear view mirror were dirty and I had to clean it myself.
