Cheap Car Hire in Central East Oakland, Oakland from ฿1,955

When I arrived I did not have the cc that I booked the car with due to my bank sending me a new card because of a fraudulent charge. The agent refused to accept another card even though I had proof I was the person that booked the car. She offered no assistance in resolving the issue and told me my only option was to book another car at 4 times the rate I originally booked the car for. I tried to contact someone in customer service but was unable to get an actual person on the phone. In order not to be stranded I booked another car. I finally got someone from Hertz on the phone the next day and was bounced from one person to another. I was finally told that I would get a call back from someone that could help me resolve the issue. That was July 2. Today is July 9 and I have yet to hear from anyone. I do not expect that I ever will. I WILL NEVER RENT A CAR FROM THIS COMPANY AGAIN.

Great service, great care b the hertz station

Pick up was easy and had a great car for my trip. How to drop the car off at LAX Marriott was confusing. There were no directions and no signage.

The car was nice. Too expensive for the collision damage waiver $24. Then all the fees which isn’t budget’s fault.. would also be nice if someone showed me how to use the car features

The agent at the pickup counter was delightful, friendly and expeditious. Same for drop off experience!

The lied me. The agent sold me an upgrade that I didn't want. He didn't tell me anything about the upgrade, he just said that there was an error that would be solved when I return the car. Surprise: there wasn't any error and they regret to return the money because I signed the contract (that wasn't well explained). It's a scam. Don't rent a car here or in avis.

We arrived at the rental car center at 7:50 pm. We drove away with our car at 10:40 pm. I am sympathetic that Christmas Eve is hard for staffing but it was a miserable wait with only two people serving over 50 customers ahead of us. The worst part though is that while we got a car, we were one of the last ones. I don’t understand how they can’t figure out their inventory and were still making confirmed reservations when they didn’t have enough cars.

Check the vehicle over before next renter. The tank was not full, the back passenger side tire was under inflated and I have had to add air 3 times since rental, and lastly the vehicle had a Florida tag that expired in June 2022. other wise vehicle is comfortable and runs well. I would use Payless again.

All good except the line at the Oakland Airport is too long. The whole Avis, Budget, Payless section was run by 3 people and there were at least 25 people in line most of the time. I had to wait close to 45 min to get to the counter. Once there, very quick and efficient.
