The staff was really attentive to my needs as an out of town traveler. I had a wonderful experience renting a car with them.
They did not have the vehicle we reserved at the time of pick-up, however, they delivered the correct vehicle a few days later an hours drive away.
My pickup was in portland and drop off was to be at LAX (in conjunction with my airline tix) but the reservation (priceline via KAYAK) didn’t reflect that, or the $375 drop off fee associated with it. Olivia at the Portland branch said “no problem!” and just waived the fee. And gave me a nice upgrade!
The enterprise location that was offered to me was not even open by the time I landed on my flight. 2 pm. I tried calling right before 2 and after, no one answered. There were no directions or information regarding previously scheduled rentals. Luckily, the Enterprise team at Portland Airport helped me get a last-minute car. Not impressed at all with this service. Thank goodness I didn't have to pay.
Reserved a Large SUV 2 months in advance; called to confirm reservation 2 days before pick-up and was told we were all set. Received phone call from Enterprise at 8:29 am day of pick-up (3 1/2 hours before pick-up to return call); attempted to call but only got voicemail all morning. Arrived at location to pick-up the SUV at scheduled pick-up time (12 pm) and was told they had no vehicle or no alternative vehicle. I waited 30 minutes at location while they called and attempted to find other options -- could not come up with any options. I left at 12:35 pm; called Avis/Budget in the car (nearby location) and they had 1 large SUV and matched the price from Enterprise. Problem solved. Have rented from Enterprise dozens of time for business and personal use and this was only time they failed to deliver. Was disappointing.
Biggest issue was customer service. Received conflicting information, did not explain change in charges if modifications made, continued to add charges that should have been waived.
Returning the car. No instructions provided on how to return after hours, had to call to get support. Ended up getting charged a fee for being narrowly behind my scheduled return time.
I rented from the downtown Portland Hertz office instead of at the airport due to large price difference. When I called the Hertz agent to find out which Max tram stop was closest to the office, the agent did not know where the Hertz office was located relative to the tram line. That would be helpful information.
They never gave us the rental even after paying for it
Hertz Pine Street location is in a very seedy area and I felt uncomfortable as a woman alone. Only 4 blocks walk to the metro train to the airport if you don't mind walking near homeless tent encampments on the sidewalks.
I requested car rental quotes for Portland PDX, KAYAK GAVE ME A QUOTE FROM THE DOWNTOWN HERTZ LOCATION. HAD TO CHANGE RENTAL COMPANIES AT THE AIRPORT AT CONSIDERABLE EXTRA COST.
No where near PDX airport. Had to retrieve own car from 7th floor/rooftop. Had to return own rental to 5th floor. Vehicle had maintenance message nearly whole trip. Then they charged an extra $97 for what? We refueled just before dropping off. I have surrendered Hertz Gold membership, never again! Kayak you should be ashamed for helping Hertz con customers. Possibly never use you again either.
They dont give me a receipt for my payment and i couldnt locate my reservation. Money lost
I was charged $11/ per day for additional collision coverage option I chose with PriceLine, but the Dollar rental had no information on that and was asked if I need additional collision coverage. Looks like either Dollar want double bill me on this or PriceLine failed to coordinate this part with Dollar.
Car was amazing, pick up and drop off location was extremely easy to find. Staff was friendly.
I would advise against this company. They're not concerned with customers' safety and tried to charge me $400 to drop off at airport because the location downtown IS NOT SAFE! First I was quoted $150 to change drop off, then she could give me discount of $100, then another employee tried to charge me $400! These people are dishonest, unethical and clearly not concerned with the safety of their patrons. I will never rent from this company again. Never.
Bad survey. Pickup was not good, drop off was great! Why do you glom them together? The person who I worked with at pickup did not know her job well. I did not receive any information on returning the car or other offers of information. Drop off was great. Rusty and Mike in the garage were so nice and so helpful! They were both wonderful!
Everything went well until they billed me for more than I signed off on. I signed for 220 and got billed for 308. I did not do anything that would have changed the original price I signed for. I’ve been on hold to speak with a representative for 18 minutes now and still waiting. This was my first time using Budget and I certainly won’t go through them again.

Drop off should be better. Airport drop off isn’t an overnight drop off option, I tried.

Was cheaper to rent directly here than to go from the airport - it was a really quick and efficient process and I'd definitely do it this way again.

They were out of compact cars and "upgraded" me to a mid-size. It was for a long trip and gas milage killed my budget. Ah well.
