Cheap Car Rentals in Sunderland, Portland

Budget is a deceptive rental group. I made arrangements for full size SUV, when I arrived they did not have vehicle so they tried putting me in a mid size SUV for a party of 5 that had travelled for 10 day trip to ski. This vehicle would not fit is so they up charged me $400 extra for a premium full size SUV. I didn’t have a choice after an hour of discussion, so I was forced to take the up charge. I ended up getting a Ford Expedition which was the exact vehicle I had reserved only now it was $400 more. This company is a fraud, I will never use them again.

Pick up was terrible, took an hour to wait in line. The cars plates were 6 months expired.

The car we requested was not avaliable. I was not happy about that but I understand the difficulties during the holiday. We had a van instead of a luxury SUV with AWD.

Cleaner car.

Drop-off was GREAT! Sooooo easy; however, the wait to pick up the car was VERY long. Just bad timing/luck I guess. I assume that this wasn't the norm. Otherwise everything was wonderful.

Time at the desk was short. The car was ready and clean. Drop off was quick. Great experience.

Great car. Was upgraded, free of charge because the car I reserved was not available. Very nice. Staff was friendly and efficient. Definitely would use this location again.

Easy, clean, professional

I called several days in advance and was told all was confirmed (after booking months in advance). I arrived at the pickup, only to be told they didn't have the minivan I reserved. They proceeded to say that the 3rd party sites didn't communicate well with Enterprise and hinted that I should have booked direct. I showed them my confirmation that had their logo and address while they attempted to get me to accept a 4-5 passenger small SUV. I was transporting part of a team, so that wouldn't work. They said to come back the next day because there were no minivans in the city...even though I had reserved one. So I drove the 25 minutes home and 25 minutes back the following morning. They found and cleaned one (great!) and attempted to charge me nearly double (not great!). Fortunately I caught it, and all ended well. Was just a HUGE hassle and delay, mixed with 3 employees not seeming to know what was going on.

I went through Kayak and rented the car through Hotwire. You expect the customer service for a company to be experts at what they do. They were not in this case. My delta flight to Portland was an hour late which put me outside of my pick up time at Enterprise. I called Hotwire customer service and was told I would have to rebook my rental car. This was after they contacted Enterprise on my behalf. 15 minutes later after my rental with Enterprise was cancelled, my daughter found that they have a policy of waiting 2 hours after close for delayed flights. It cost me an extra $500 to rebook my rental. To say I am upset would be an understatement. I expect that either Kayak or Hotwire will reimburse me for the added cost.
