Cheap Car Rentals in East Side Commercial District, Tampa

They did not have any cars available to rent.

The branch manager, Manouchka Castor, was excellent. The car was higher mileage, and a few years old, with only the most basic trim level, but was decently cleaned.

The team that run the office were great!

Even thought I called a week, and again a day in advance to confirm reservation, I was told the morning of the rental that if I didn't arrive at the office when it opened, I could not be guaranteed a vehicle. The car that I was given smelled so terribly of disinfectant, we had to purchase bottles of vinegar to dissipate odors. We also had to leave windows open at night and wash all clothes that came in contact with seats and floors.

The website added a pick up location away from where I asked. I was very specific in my search to ask for a specific airport pickup. and when we arrived at the airport site they said they had no reservation, the site where our reservation was closed, they had no cars at all. They offered no help other than yo try the other car rental counters in the airport. Flip side was Thrifty/Dollar who offered many suggestions for dealing with Alamo (try Uber to hotel & Uber back in the morning), and then worked hard to not only find a car my husband could fit in, but reduced the price as best they could to come close to matching the price we got from Alamo.

Major issue is the Thrifty name is nowhere on the building. It was located inside a Hertz car rental. The address on the building was hard to read. Took over an hour to pick up my reservation. Drop off was just as bad. Seemed to be under staffed. Twice they tried to rent cars to people that needed repairs taking more time. During drop off they interrupted my transaction to send employee to pick up more cars. I tried to extend rental 1 more day and that day would have been over twice what my rental was per day.

First the pickup and drop off place was a Hertz rental location and not a Thrifty location. Second this is a location less geared to travelers and more geared to local customers and it is understaffed. Third it is not anywhere near the airport and we could not change the location to the airport which would have Ben more convenient. Finally, we were not offered the opportunity to purchase the fuel program, so had to stop to buy extra gas unnecessarily. All of the above made this rental car experience poor.

The problem itself is not with the car rental company, but with the Kayak. I made the first reservation, however, with the wrong time, so the car rental company suggested that I make another reservation, which I did. I picked up a car and they charged me for 2. I'm waiting for a response to this.

I was onsite saw they vichel that I reserved was told over the phone that it was not there, they tried to upgrade me for an extra $400 than my reservation. They lied about what vehicles the had in the lot. Bottom line they will not honor the third party prices.

Great customer service. Kayak’s website mistakenly allowed me to rent a rental car that was not at the airport rental. In lieu of charging me double for the reservation, the agent helped me get a new reservation at only a 50% increase versus a 100% increase from my reservation rate.

Dear national Or third party! I’m waiting for car rental National to refund me the funds they took from my account on two different transactions! On the date I return the car to the same location I picked the car as planned the staff were not what is going! Very disappointed. I want my money! And I’m going to put in a complaint

It wasn’t National’s fault, it was Kayak’s fault. You booked a car at a location that was closed, never sent a confirmation email and then offered no help in rebooking. The supervisor I talked to on the phone was rude and ended up hanging up. Completely disappointed with the way you guys left me stranded. I’ve never been treated like this by a company for something that was their fault. Never using Kayak or any affiliated companies again.
