Cheap Car Rentals in Flatiron District, New York

car was fine, so was the very central location in NYC. unfortunately, the car hadn‘t been cleaned (there were french fries under the seat) and the drop-off location in DC had been closed months earlier, so I had to drive around during rush hour to find one where I could actually drop off the car.

The clerk wasn’t welcoming and friendly. She was a military style despot: very short with people.

I was able to reserve a car online a few hours prior to pick up. WHen I went to hertz I was told there was no car.

Overall, an “OK”experience. They forgot to have car seats on the property that I previously rsvp’d. It was a major hiccup that cost us a half a day and was a total inconvenience since we had to go shopping for car seats in NYC which was not an easy task nor a fun one with kids. The vehicle we rented had a strong odor of cigarettes and maybe even marijuana. Certainly room for improvement.

I needed to extend the rental period and they wanted to double the rate.

The employee at Budget showed up late. Another customer and I were standing around for ~20 minutes. (He arrived around 9:20, and the place was supposed to be open at 7:00. He gave no explanation.) He then proceeded to give me a car that only had a quarter tank of gas (I was in the middle of Manhattan without easy access to a gas station), and the car was filthy inside. The windshield washer fluid dispenser wasn’t working, and when I bought fluid to try to fill it, I realized the dispenser was just totally broken. I called customer service, and I received no money off my trip. He was very curt. I was basically told that it was already generous that he offered me a $30 coupon for another rental. I rent cars often, and I have never experienced this. An absolutely terrible operation. Avoid if you can.

The Toyota camery is a Toyota prius. No drop off in return. Drop off at night cost 40 $ parking fee. Waited 30 for pick up. Didn't got recipe yet. The price is average
