We arrived (granted two hours and five minutes late) to find that the car we had prepaid for had been given to someone else. Nu Car said our only option was to wait indefinitely for another suitable car to arrive. Their lot was empty and they said it could be hours or days. Thankfully, a suitable car arrived in a bit over an hour. Still, considering we had prepaid, we felt they should have held our car. Next, we found out we were not allowed to drive the car to Idaho, one of our intended destinations. Considering Idaho was only an hour and a half away, we were quite astonished. We had never rented a car with such restrictions before. As we had prepaid and our booking was non-refundable, we had to eat the cost of renting a car from another agency for that portion of our trip. In the end, it was hard to beat Nu Car rental rates. However, apparently they’re a small company and we weren’t prepared for these quirks - we should have read the fine print. We gambled again by getting another bargain deal from Fox Rent A Car in SLC for our trip to Idaho and thankfully had no issues with that company. We appreciated Nu Car’s rates, just be sure to read the fine print before you rent from them.

There is fine print to the fine print if you are picking up locally. There isn’t unlimited mileage on their cars. You can pay per mile or per day which effectively doubled my rental cost. I cancelled and went to another rental car company.

I wish I would have been told upfront that this company was closed on Sundays and that I would have to pay an additional $25 to drop the car off just because it was Sunday.

Absolutely zero communication about where or what this place is prior to arrival. No communication about the need to provide insurance policy information. Terrible operating hours. The people are nice but that’s where the good ends. The car had damaged seats inside, damaged gear shift, expired plates, a loose rear view mirror.

Car rental location was off airport. Long walk to the shuttle pickup point. Return spot is better.
