The car had less than 1/4 of fuel and the key had almost no battery. I tried to use the alternative physical key and it didn't work. The brakes were a bit noisy.

Car was excellent and provided exactly what we needed during our trip. The drop-off was a tad difficult due to reasons outside of Avis' control (heavy traffic in drop-off location's area).

Reserved a SUV. While standing in line to be served, the guy upgraded the guy in front of me to their last SUV. I ended up getting a F150 that had no oil in it's engine and broke down on the way home. Cost me an extra day to get home, a night in Modesto, a pissed off wife and a lot off gas. Avis did their best to make things right. But beware of renting from the 3600 Wilshire Blvd location.

Nice car and particularly easy and quick drop off, but pick up was under staffed and slow (we stood in line for half an hour) and pushed us too hard to buy insurance we didn't need.

The car was clean and well maintained.

I did the pick-up at the West Hollywood location and the drop-off at the LAX airport. Drop off was completely fine but the pick-up experience was awful. First, I reserved the car starting at 10 am but I was not seen by anyone until almost 11 am. Second, both the manager and the person at the counter were awful. I am an international student and I have rented cars when traveling several times, but no place was so problematic (to say the least) when inspecting my documentation. Not only were they saying they would not rent me a car because of some made-up law which is in no place on their website at the moment of making the reservation (or a law of the state of California which they were claiming it was), but they had the dare to inspect my passport, make copies of my ID page AND VISA -which is extremely irregular-, and suggest I was not allowed to rent and that "I should know better". Third, after they "generously" decided to rent me the car, it turned out, they did not have the car I had reserved for and they were trying to get me to pay 75 USD extra PER day, instead of giving another car for the same price rate -which they ended up doing after I insisted I was not paying extra, nor I would wait two extra hours (additional to the hour and a half I was already paying for while sitting at their office). Finally, the car they gave me had only one-quarter of a tank of gas, when it is supposed to be full at the moment of pick up. In sum, awful. Never again.

We did not end up renting from them. First the airport location does not even pickup at the airport. Had to take the city bus from airport to a shuttle stop. Then waited for the midway shuttle. Got to the location and waited in line for about 30 min. Finally got to the counter and after giving a lot of info to the guy was told my husband had an issue with his credit. This was news to us. He showed me the issue and we told him that was not us. He said we could not rent the car. We told him it was a fake issue and looked like fraud. My husband was furious. He walked out and called thrifty where we got a rental for the same price and no hassle! Avoid midway!!!

The price was excellent

When I picked up the car, the agent refused to inspect car .He Claimed pictures of scrapes and dents of car would be emailed to me. Which never happened. He was very dismissive. I found out after dropping off car he need to inspect rental.

Their customer support was unparalleled, and it seemed everyone on staff liked working together. It was an altogether positive experience that my boyfriend and I remarked on repeatedly. Thanks!

Convenient, car met expectations.

My booking was with a Hertz office outside of the airport, which I did not expect. Hertz airport location was able to set me up with a car, but at a higher rate than booked.
