I booked the car at Norfolk instead of Newport News by mistake. When I called upon arrival, Hertz told me a car would cost an additional $221. That is on top of the prepaid of $54. It was a one day rental. Went to Budget and got a car for $67.
I wasn’t able to retrieve my rental because it was paid though Affirm. They needed the credit card that was associated with the reservation. I couldn’t provide a card if it was paid through Affirm. So they wouldn’t let me get the rental and I was forced to cancel. I called customer service and the guy was talking about their terms and conditions. But had no answer when I asked why it’s not in the terms and conditions to accept a reservation through a payment plan company like Affirm knowing a credit card is needed upon pickup of reservation.
No cars were available when I arrive!!!! I lost money!!!!!the girl didnt try to solve the problem!!!

The car was at another site from the airport. I paid $15.00 for a cab to get to the Hertz site. I was informed to return the car on Sunday morning to the same location. In order to cancel my reservation a return trip to the airport would be needed. I had several meetings to attend that day. October 23, 2022, Sunday morning the plane departure at 6:44 am. I contacted via phone Hertz and was informed it was a prepaid account, I made an attempt to get a cab at the airport at 4:00 am, and no cabs available. I returned the car at the airport with Hertz. It was very frustrating, and uneasiness. How can I return a car at another site with no cab available, and the possibility of no one to pick me up, and to return to the airport. It would have been better for me to return the car to the airport. Eventually, I returned the rental to the airport due to no transportation to the airport at 4:00 am.
They didn’t have a car for me. Even though the reservation was confirmed….really inconvenient for a work trip. This is also not the first time this has happened.
Staff was friendly but not very knowledgeable
We ran around between 2 locations because no one advised the same information which resulted in one teservationnbeing cancelled and new one being created, also after confirming and leaving the office I was called back being advised I was given the wrong car and had to come back. What should have taken 30 minutes turned to 2 hour delay in my plans

They were completely unprepared with my vehicle. Took a long time to fuel the vehicle, clean it, process the paperwork. They didn't answer the phones when I called ahead of time to ensure they were getting it ready. I waited 45min-1 hour after my reservation time to get my vehicle. Not happy.
The people who work there are friendly. They worked with me getting the information that I didn't bring with me. The option of having someone drop you off is great. I rented a Chrysler 200 at a good price.
The windshield was dirty on the inside. It looked like someone had smoked a couple packs of cigarette in there.
