Car had air conditioning problems

Economy rent a car is like a a budget airline. They offer the cheapest price as bait, but there are catches and fees for everything. Rental fee for entire period is paid upfront. No refunds if you return your car soon. If you use your own insurance, they will keep a $500 hold on your card ("to pay for repairs" - they failed to explain what this means because they take your insurance details already, and deductible is charged by your car insurance company to you). If you decline this $500 hold, they charge $8/day. Additional drivers are a daily fee. There is no walk-around inspection of the car. I was told to take pictures using my cellphone camera, and if there are damages found at time of return, they will rely on the timestamp of the pictures. I was scared because the car I was given has a number of scratches and bumps all around. When I returned the car, no one talked about the existing scratches and they returned my deposit (phew!). Throughout my rental period, I was a bit scared of losing all or part of my deposit, but it checked out already.

In Orlando, note that the "airport" pick up is not at the airport, it's offsite. So ride a shuttle, but unfortunately Economy does not seem to have frequent shuttles, we waited about 30 minutes while other car companies were coming and going. We called twice, until finally got a shuttle to come. This was around noon, so not an unusual hour. Then they did not have the size or type we reserved - SUV. We got a tiny compact, which is exactly what we were trying to avoid by renting an SUV. The company gave us a "small" discount because they didn't have the car we wanted - but still charged the SUV price less the $10 discount for not having the right car. In other words, they charge you for a large car, give you a smaller one, and refund a few bucks but you're still paying more than the economy reservation would have been. The car had 80k miles and was covered with scratches and dents, running with the check engine light on and the windshied wipers were so worn they were ineffective. At least any additional dent would never be noticed on this car. Last visit with Economy Rental.

Pushy on toll insurance prepayment

Do Not Rent A Car From This Company! I arrived only to find that my reservation had been cancelled and I had no rental car. I attempted to call and use WhatsApp to message Easirent per the instructions on the email confirmation. The number they provided was not in service. The pickup location is listed as Orlando International Airport; however, it is actually offsite from the airport. Looking back at my credit card statement shows that I was charged at the time of booking. I’m still trying to get a refund.

Everything went well. Vehicle selection and MCO terminal C was limited. We have to take a shuttle over to terminal B to find a car, but it was a minor inconvenience. Everything else went great!

My reservation was cancelled

No cars available even though it was prepaid and reservation was confirmed. All rental companies overbooked and left hundreds without transportation late at night. Still waiting for reimbursement.
