Wonderful|Mar 2022It was an easy, efficient experience. The vehicle ran well and suited our needs. The only problem was that we purchased the protection coverage at time of pickup after we had already purchased a plan through KAYAK or an affiliate. I didn’t realize until it was too late. Seems like there should be some way to see what coverage was already purchased at the time of pickup. In spite of that it was overall a very good experience

Very Good|Feb 2022Liked the discount given for sure! But someone at least gave us a call to let us that car was not ready on the the day of pick up. But overall renting the car with that Enterprise branch was GOOD! Kudos to Sam for helping us out.

Car was filthy, hadn't been cleaned despite them claiming that they sanitize all cars due to Covid-19, this car was filthy. In fact, we were driving down the road when I noticed my 3-year-old eating a pack of doughnuts she'd found in the pocket of the passenger seat. Amid all the fears about Coronavirus, and their claims to take this seriously, it seems that they are all talk, but mostly hot air. The interior of the vehicle was filthy. I had to take it and clean it and sanitize it myself and wipe all the gunk from the steering wheel and interior.

Very Good|Oct 2017Pick up and drop off was easy and I felt like they were very conscientious of my time. The woman who checked us out called for a shuttle as she started checking us out so it was waiting for us when we were done handing the car in.
Overall the car rental was fine, except that the vehicle does not have a toll pass program. Then Enterprise charge a fee per day that you use toll roads, but due to not having a toll pass we were charged all types of extra fees from the toll roads. It felt like a scam.

Mediocre|Oct 2022The pickup was okay except that they did not explain about some of the features on the auto, and they did not offer to set the Sirius radio. The car was clean. The only real problem was that there was very little acceleration while trying to merge onto the freeway, However, the drop off at the agency on south I37 at Military Road in San Antonio was very disappointing. The office is located in a busy shopping mall, and when I arrived, there was no parking anywhere near the office and no signage indicating where to park the return vehicles. Therefore, I parked in a parking space as close as I could to the front door since I use a cane and it is difficult for me to walk on some pavement areas. The manager informed me that I could not leave the car parked where it was, and that I had to move it to the back of the building. When I asked if his fellow employee could move it for me, I was informed that they could/would not. This was a real example of poor customer service. There should at least be some type of sign indicating where to park the return vehicles, and a little effort of their part to move my vehicle would have been appreciated. He showed no consideration for my slight disability, only a "so what" kind of attitude.

Okay|Mar 2022Thought we rented from airport location, but was informed that we had rented at some other Avis location. Luckily, manager at airport location was able to honor same rate that we had agreed upon at the other location. A heads up on your website that you are NOT renting from airport location would be appreciated!

Poor|Oct 2021The car was comfortable; but dented and scratched up, and marked up. If I want to rent a scratch and dent, I would go to those companies. The staff on pick up was less than friendly. Rude would be more accurate. No one else in the place but him and myself and he was "too busy" to help me or greet me upon entering his business. After a greeting asking me why I was there and my last name, and my answer to him I waited a good 3-4 minutes while he looked at what he was doing and then computer several times, and then finally said (without touching the computer once, meaning to me my reservation was already up on the screen) said, "Oh, yeah, I see you." Then never asked us the usual questions like, do you want to bring the car back with a full tank or have us fill it for you;" never went over the condition of the car with us, and was very direct when talking with us about the rental. He tried to sell us car insurance telling us that if we didn't take his offer to purchase, then if anything happened, we would have to have our insurance card with us to show the authorities. I have NEVER had that in all my or my husbands years of renting. When I asked him if we purchased AVIS' insurance would there be an insurance card in the car? At that comment he ceased trying to push the insurance on us. I have NEVER had anyone be so gruff, other than in post communist states overseas, even then in the past few years renting with them they were far friendlier! I am so sorry this has been our experience! Shame on this man for being so "bothered" by our presence when renting through him for AVIS.

We arrived to find that they didn’t have the car we reserved. Initially the manager helping us didn’t even apologize and instead tried to blame us because we used a third party to book it. He offered to upgrade us but that “required” him to charge us more money. They ended up finding us a car but it took over an hour waiting and it wasn’t completely cleaned on outside. They offered to wash it while we waited longer but we were already way behind schedule.

I had to pay a cab fare to get to the rental lot because the counter at the airport wasn't staffed and there was no shuttle. This wasn't made clear when I booked. I was offered to wait until someone could be found to work in a pickup but i was on a very tight schedule.

Additional charges were not itemized so no idea what I was being charged for at drop off. The wait in the lobby was agonizing due to an average of only 1 person being behind the counter to handle rentals and their trying to do too many things at once. Both pickup and drop off took about 3 times as long as other rental agencies. There were several others in the office but seemed to be dedicated to car sales only. My car had food crumbs on the carpet where they neglected to unfold seats.

Poor|Sep 2016It was not clear from the beginning that the site chosen was not at the airport. Also, the reservation promised a 4 minute shuttle ride. It was two hors from the time I made it to the hertz shuttle bus and the time I eventually got my car. The car was not clean and smelled of smoke.
All of the above are simply unacceptable. There was one person that was helpful in this disaster. It was the person at the desk in the office on San Pedro who actually got me my car. I've asked my admin asst not to book with hertz in future trips to San Antonio.
