Very efficient drop off. We returned the car and were at the airport very quickly.

At pickup, they gave me a smaller car than what I had reserved, but I didn't realize it until I had driven away.

My car model was changed - a Jetta to Nissan Altima. Car was new so I was OK. I believe the Jetta may have been a couple more box than the Nissan yet I was charged the Jetta’s rate. Ok

Car was new (3,000 miles), clean and ran great. Pick-up at airport was smooth and relatively quick. Rented from Dollar, a sub of Alamo.

Rental agent failed to mention that the drop off point in the Fisherman's Wharf area was in the lower parking garage in the Sheraton hotel. The sign for Dollar Rent a Car is hidden from street view and the address for 2500 Mason Street does not seem to exist. It is actually down an alley in the center of the Sheraton. It took an extra 25 minutes of circling the block and finally a call to the rental desk before I could find out where to bring the car in for a landing.

1. Car was smaller than stated in initial reservation 2. Dollar appears to double charge airport concession fee and transport (airtrain/building) "transaction" fee even for customers who don't use the airtrain and even though the building is part of the concession. 3. Car was not thoroughly serviced: tire pressure was uneven.

Staff was friendly and pick up was smooth

Car REEKED of smoke, but was “certified clean”. We unfortunately didn’t have time to change out the car as were already running late but very disappointed as we were in the car for 4+ hours round trip for a road trip and it was an AWFUL smell. Very disappointed and would like to have some money back/a discount

The vehicle was not 4-wheel-drive, unlike the website said. In addition, I was not allowed to drop off the car at a different Hertz office in the same city. What the heck is that about? That’s really poor service.

The car was in excellent shape: new and well-cleaned.

The pickup/drop off situation is a nightmare: extremely rude staff, cars not ready (not just for us- several others were also waiting. were "lucky" we only had to wait 30 minutes), no after-hours drop off or instructions for such situations (we had to ask help from the parking attendant..) AVOID
