Initially the vehicle was great but the maintenance and oil change light came on.
Vehicle maintenance been up to date, I tried to contact roadside assistance and was on hold for a half hour. I got different answers from everyone I talked to.

When I picked up my car it had a terrible body odor. It smelled like a high school locker room, and no matter what I did, the smell persisted—it was deep within the linen of the car seats. Opening windows in an attempt to air the car out did nothing. I bought febreeze and sprayed the upholstery of the entire car TWICE. I even bought fragrance sticks to put in the air vents. Nothing worked, and after having the car for almost a week, the smell was still there when I returned it. Also, when I got the car it wasn’t at a full tank. I was given a rental that only had 1/4 tank of gas in it.
When I arrived to pick up my reserved car I was told it was canceled and wascalled and left voice message. But I didn't get any voice messages or any cancelation emails. Because of this all my plans changed, I had to pay almost double price to rent car from different place.

Requested pick up at STL airport @5:00 PM. Kayak made the reservation at an "off site" Hertz location (not at airport)... that closed at 5PM. There was no "heads up" that the reservation was at a different location than I requested... you would have had to look up the address. When I took the Hertz shuttle to the airport rental office, I was told that the airport lot was out of cars and that the offsite location was closed until the following morning. I was stuck in the airport with no car! Since I was meeting customers and staying out of town.... this was a major issue! Kayak should have highlighted that the rental location they selected was different than I requested... and NEVER should have booked the pick up at the time the office closed!

Got into airport at Midnight, only to find out all the rental places close at 8. Why couldn’t my email mention that. Because my email stated my arrival time. Luckily Hertz gave me a full refund.

It was really easy to get to the Hertz off-airport site via rideshare. The office was easy to find and the price I paid to be able to pick up and drop off at different airports was outstanding! I saved over $400 versus getting the car at the airport. I was in/out in less than 10 min. Super easy, thank you
Worst rental experience of my life. Would never recommend Avis to anyone.

The line to pick up our pre-paid rental at Avis was over 70 minutes waiting outside in the hot sun in an uncovered parking lot at the St. Louis airport. The line got much longer as we waited. Those at the back must have waited over two hours. We heard that they ran out of cars.

I would not rent from Budget/Avis. Wait line was over two hours and by the time I left, there were 50 people waiting behind me. Apparently this is standard practice for them. I won't use them again. (Car was fine, no issues. Staff were also very friendly and helpful, not their fault in my opinion.)

The pick up spot in St. Louis was awesome - super accommodating and quick. Drop off in Omaha took 5 minutes tops. A stress free rental for a stress free trip!

Reserved a small car. When I showed up at my reserved pickup time the office was closed despite the posted hours saying they should be open. When I called the next day, they told me that they only had one car on the lot and it was a ford f150 and didn’t seem to have any idea about my reservation.
The owner, Brenda Williamson, was arrogant, rude, condescending, a cheat, a swindler, and names I can't mention on here. Please don't give this location your money!

I never got the rental reserved because location didn't have the vehicle and when they finally got the reserved vehicle, the price wasn't honored and price doubled. I think I'd Kayak, Priceline should verify the companies will honor coupons because I was told that's the reason price wasn't honored.

I booked a convertible only to find out they don’t have any. Didn’t have any luxury or premium Cars anywhere in stlouis either. Why was i allowed to book that and ended up with a Kia for 10 days. Worst city I’ve traveled to.

Spent 2 hours trying to get the Full-Size pick-up truck and driving around St. Louis. Was sent from the Olive Street location to the STL airport location to pick up the rental as they said they were not going to receive it from the airport location but I could go to the airport to pick it up. Arriving at the airport location they never did anything like that and they could not honor my rental reservation. Called back to the Olive location and was told that they do that all the time as that is where their inventory comes from. Worst experience and a waste of my time. Left without the rental as we needed the full size pick up truck I rented to move a few item to college for my daughter.
