Cheap Car Rentals in Carondelet, St. Louis

I typed in STL and they sent me very far away from the airport. The Hertz desk at the airport did absolutely nothing to help me. They said that I had to go online and call Hertz. It cost $45 each way in an Uber. The electric car charged at 25 mph. It was the worst car renting experience of my life.

Easy process. Only issue we had was when we were trying to move our pick up time to earlier the person I spoke with told us he couldn't because Hertz is not open on Sunday and we would have to drop the car off on Monday. We've rented from this location and dropped off before so we just cancelled online and rebooked there as well. Not sure what that person was looking at, but had no issues dropping off yesterday.

The pickup location was wrong. It was not at the airport. Had to take a Lyft to get the car and pay to drop off at a different location (Lambert airport). Staff at both places very harried and insisted I made the booking wrong.

Everything was nice and convenient everything I asked the person at the desk to do they did. The bad part was there was only one person working so I had to wait a long time for the car both picking up and dropping it off.

They were very understaffed and the line to pick up the car was 45 minutes long. I asked for a Volkswagen Jetta upon renting but received a Chrysler minivan. Drop off was a train wreck. No one to show you where to park, do you leave keys in the car? Do you have the car inspected? It was all a guess. I won’t use them again.

1. Vehicle showed Oil Maintenance Required but I was told it was safe to drive. Not true as I had to exchange the vehicle in the middle of my trip. 2. Had a query about a Toll charge, was told it was a vehicle I had not rented. Then was told that a charge would need to be processed to update the list of vehicles I had driven. 3. Replacement vehicle had Expired Registration
