|Jan 2026I went to pick up my vehicle, and the person who helped me said I should be charged $200 per day, and that insurance would be $46 per day because they were delivering a new car, a Jeep Wagoneer. When I arrived, they gave me an old car with 80,000 miles, with loose parts inside that rattled every time I braked. The side mirrors, on two occasions when I went to reverse, folded in as if the car were stationary. It wasn't the price they quoted me when I rented the car through the app, nor was it what she offered when I reserved the car at the counter. I paid for something I never received. I consider it a lack of respect and consideration. I paid my money for something that only remained a promise.

|Apr 2023Our Flight from Connecticut to Jacksonville was two and a half hours. It took us a hour and fifteen minutes in line just to get to the counter . Then we were directed to the garage, to pick up the car, There we stood for another hour and a half waiting for our car! That's a total of THREE HOURS waiting!!!! It took us two and a half to fly, but three hours to collect a car that we had reserved months ago. BUDGET HAS NO HELP At ANY COUNTERS!! We also found they DO NOT CARE about any customers! Very Poor Service!! Would not recommend.

|Mar 2023it took 1 hr 20 min waiting in line to get checked in then told to wait 15-20 min car was being cleaned. Car rental took longer than flight. The staff was processing quickly but so many people and only one line for Avis, Budget and Payless combined. Return was very quick.

|Jul 2023It took forever to get the car, the SUV smelled like cigarettes. We drove 24hrs from Jax to ELP and the smell was just overwhelming. Then my itinerary said drop off was at 12, but their system said 8. Showed the itinerary guess who still got a late fee? It was such a bad experience so overpriced for a car that had my kids and pregnant spouse smelling like cigarette.

|Dec 2021I was eligible for a military discount and was denied by both the rental place and thru customer service. And the rental place tried to seriously over charge me for the rental. If I hadn't pressed for an honest rate, I would have paid a lot more than I should have.

|Jul 2024Poor customer service. When I went to pick up the car the front desk expected that I take a car that was on empty and fuel it up myself. We went back and forth until finally the guy at the front desk followed me to the gas station to fuel up the car. I made sure to get a car with unlimited miles because I was taking a road trip to my family’s annual reunion that was a few hours away. On the halfway point I stopped to get some gas and I noticed the tires had no thread which was a potential danger to my kids life and my life. I’m extremely disappointed that when I called to vocalize my concerns the lady at the front desk hung up on me twice as if it was nothing important.. she was not helpful nor concerned about the dangers that could happen she did not give me instructions on what I should do in the situation. I will not be going back to this company ever again.

|Oct 2023Was not well run. Extremely disorganized and slow to check in and check out. When I returned on October 7, waiting room was full of people waiting to pick up cars but there were no cars. The woman at the desk only acknowledged me when I told another customer I was there to return my car. I had my rental car keys clearly in my hand but she had not acknowledged my presence, even though I had been standing near the desk for about 10 minutes. You would think she would have recognized that. She was not helping any other customers. I heard them tell others that they were oversold and even though some of these customers pre-booked days in advance, there were no cars available. Just a very not well run place. Will never use again.

|Feb 2026First car had smokey smell, but there was no problem switching to another one. The other car had a paint scrape on the front bumper and various dings all around, but it was clean and comfortable inside. They were happy to notate all the dings for my peace of mind.

|May 2026I had to cancel because my son's last minute military deployment extension and therefore lost money as a result. The rental would likely have been fine. I'm just out money from this rental, hotel reservations, and airfare. Not Kayak or Thrifty's fault. I'm just bummed.
