I liked that I was able to rent a car.
1. More employees at the Southside location. 1a. - each time I went there was only one and they could seldom be found) 2. Ensure vehicles are in good working order before offering them to be rented: 2a - the car I reserved couldn’t be rented out due to an oil change being > 1,000 mi overdue 3. Offer free transportation between the Southside and Atlantic locations or simply close the Southside store, it is a nightmare 3a. - the attendant at Southside was unable to provide me with a ride to the Atlantic store after learning that my car couldn’t be rented due to the oil change issue. At the very least, reimbursement for Uber/Lyft ride charges incurred due to Hertz negligence needs to be in place. 4. Better communication and customer service between the stores 4a. - I asked the Southside store to call the Atlantic store to ensure they had the car I needed ready to go so I was not delayed longer. When I got there, there was no car ready and it took 30 min before I was helped. Beyond that, once I was finally helped, I was told the car was going to be washed then I’m good to go; however, another 20/30 min goes by and I’m still waiting - are they repainting the entire vehicle while I wait?? Finally someone working on the desk asks the car washed if they got my car to wash and they did not - at this point they were finally given the keys to even wash it 5. Policy change: wash cars immediately after they are returned and don’t have customers wait for 20-60min for their car to be washed. Washing them right before the rental is given is wasteful to my time as the customer and does not fall in line with my expectations as to what time I will actually have my car (eg adjusted reservation time). If a car has been sitting for a while and is noticibly dirty l, explain to the customer that we wash cars upon return to expedite their user end experience but that it had been sitting for a bit and needs a quick wash. 6 - Easier means for reporting negligent behavior on the Hertz website. Why not a “file a complaint” hyperlink that emails that department?
