Cheap Car Rentals in Kalorama Heights, Washington, D.C.

I reserved an SUV and was offered a Corolla or a mini van. Additionally the rate did not change. This is completely unacceptable.

Waited 25 minutes. Gate agent gave me wrong fuel options

The car was very beat up and had scratches all over it when I received it. We marked everything down, so I wouldn't get blamed for any of it, but still, the car was not in a good condition. Also, when I dropped the car off, I never received a receipt or anything to my email, so I don't have any record that my car was dropped at BWI Airport. It was a strange overall rental car experience.

I arrived to the Budget office and they didn't have cars. Need to wait over a hour for a car to arrive.

I arrived at 9:45 AM to pick up the car that I booked for 10:00 AM and didn't get the keys until about noon. There was one employee covering both Avis and Budget at the downtown DC location, and he was working really hard and being very efficient, but he simply couldn't keep up. The gas tank in the car was not full, and, after driving about 100 easy miles, the oil light turned on shortly followed by the braking system light and several warnings about the lane departure prevention and adaptive cruise control systems. The agent at the CHO airport location was not remotely concerned about the state of the vehicle when I called and asked for advice. As a result of the late start and the slow, limping conclusion, I had to extend my time with the car and pay extra. I don't plan to rent through this service, Budget, or Avis ever again.

All was easy - both picking up and dropping off.

After I dropped off the car, Hertz for some reason did not register it as returned and I keep on getting threatening messages even after I called them and they confirmed that it was returned.

Terrible! They gave me the wrong car pickup location. Then finally, when I Uber’d to the alternate pick up location, they told me they had no cars available, but that they’d put me on a 2 hour waiting list. I never heard from them after that.

Very helpful staff but product was very poor. Car pickup was slow—agent was alone and very busy. Car was filthy, outside and in. Car had been smoked in. Car was old at 48,400 miles, and tired. Driver’s floor mat was worn out and ripped. Exit from hotel failed because the tickets supplied did not work causing a 30 minute delay. A dreadful experience with Hertz and the Washington Hilton
