Cheap Car Rentals in Mid-Wilshire, Los Angeles

My experience with customers service was very good very satisfied.

Good service and quick drop-off, but the Camaro I rented wasn’t properly cleaned and interior was in a bad shape. Stains, cigarette burns, scratches at the back probably done by a dog. I was in a hurry and needed it only for a day, so I took it, but I will definitely ask for a different car next time if I see this again.

Went to pick up car and car wasn’t there. Was taken to offsite location where car wasn’t ready. Finally got the car one hour late and car was still partially dirty and with significant scratches / dings. Car was literally empty of gas with yellow light on when I got it yet agent didn’t point it out. Radio didn’t work and when I went to return the car the lot was blocked so had to return to the airport which is 25 minutes away. Terrible overall experience.

The car we received only had one quarter tank of gas, smelled like cigarette smoke and clearly had not been cleaned prior to pickup. Upon return, we were accused of getting into an accident and smoking in the car (neither of which was true). Historically, we haven't had any issues with Hertz and I think the issues stem from the pickup location (downtown LA) more than the company itself. Nonetheless, I'd be hesitant to use Hertz in the future.

When I arrived I got a voicemail saying that they didn’t have any cars even tho I made my reservation 2 months prior, they didn’t k ow when they would have a car available, called customer service to see if I can switch my reservation to a different location. They said yes but I would have to pay twice as much as what I payed in my reservation.

I have traveled all around the world for the last two decades. This is the worst!! I asked for the LAX location and got a car from a remote site that only shows on tiny prints on confirmation. I had to pay over $ 80 to get a Uber to and back from the rental office, not to mention the nearly two hours of commute time. I will never rent a car from Kayak.
