The security deposit for debit card is too hight

Rental location in downtown Seattle was convenient. My rental cay was late model, had nice features and amenities, and was delivered in clean-enough condition. The car was delivered with a supposed full tank of gas but the actual fuel level was lower. Once I noticed and pointed out, the staff corrected the contract to reflect correct fuel level.

Hartz was really responsive to my concern that I was given a car that was marked as having a full tank of gas but was only 5/8 full. The women at check-in and check-out were friendly and helpful and I got a $50 discount due to the gas issue.

They didn’t have the car I reserved, which was a disappointment. They gave me a choice between a Lincoln Navigator (aka the largest car ever) or a car so tiny it wouldn’t fit our luggage. At first I picked the Navigator, but it freaked me out to drive and I knew the gas money to drive it would be insane so the next morning I took it back and they let me exchange it. I ended up getting a BMW 330I which was not actually very comfortable but it was definitely a better option than the previous two options they gave me. We spent 10 days driving the car from Seattle to San Diego and it’s not the best car for a road trip as it’s not very roomy up front and there’s no place to set food and stuff, but the gas mileage was great and it’s a dream to drive/handle

We rented a car for $214 & then we had to return it a couple hours later & they charged us $400 extra!! Ridiculous.

I was just happy to get any car since renting a car is difficult now a days. I was so happy with the smaller midsize. The gas mileage was amazing. About 47-49mpg. Clean and smooth drive. Staff and drop off and pick up were very friendly.

Amazing location, you can walk across the street to the Space Needle and other tourist attractions.

Way too expensive but I didn't have much choice but to rent for the day.

The staff in Seattle (pick up location) didn’t honor the reservation. We book a bmw suv, but he was going to give me a 4 doors sedan, a much smaller car. His excuse was that they didn’t have the suv I booked. He said I either get a smaller car or he would cancel my reservation. I asked him if I could talk to his manager but he was rude and waked away. He walked back 5 minutes later and said he checked but there was still no suv. He sternly said if I didn’t like the smaller car, he would cancel my reservation and stated I had no other options. I once again said if he didn’t give me the suv I booked I would report him to kayak since he wouldn’t let me talk to his manager. He then realized I wouldn’t give in so he finally gave me the suv I booked. His excuse was that the car wasn’t available earlier. However, he also gave me the option earlier if I wanted the suv, I would have to pay more. The car was obviously there the entire time but he didn’t want to honor my reservation. It was the worse experience I ever had with a rental car company. I couldn’t pick up the car until 45 minutes later than my reservation

Good service and a reasonable price.

Our car was given away because we were a day late to pick it up due to a delayed flight and their closure time. We were told the only option was renting a luxury vehicle and paying extra, despite having already paid for our rental in advance for 6 days. It was not until we pointed out this was poor business and spoke with a manager and insisted that we would not be paying for a luxury vehicle we didn’t need, that were given a normal vehicle. We were still charged about $30 more than what kayak stated we’d be charged at pickup. Thrifty said this extra charge was a “hotel fee” for the building in which they were located. We were given no advance notice of this fee.

Thrifty rental was at a Hertz rental site, which made it a little confusing to find.
